I have been reading books from Aotearoa on my e-reader and I get annoyed when the letter with a macron over it looks different than the rest of the text. Then I read an article about it and found out it's caused by using a font that doesn't support macrons. (sorry I can't find the article now). So I changed the font on my e-reader to "publisher default" and wow it's magically fixed!
