I know Mastodon is mostly against AI but since its all non GenAI / local stuff, I hope everyone is fine with it.

Finishing up with my exploration of CoreAI and brushing up for
macOS27 release

The last thing I tried out is a AI music detector using the SONICS model. As usually nothing is perfect and its certainly a cat and mouse game.

I definitely need to find a solution for the binary size, since it has exploded with the AI models. As far as I know, you can load large assets in a different way?

Gosh I hate AI music.

That said, the latest #macOS27 beta no longer allows you to switch off #AppleIntelligence, now known as ‘Siri AI’. Spotlight search integrates AI responses by default, often inappropriately trying to answer questions instead of just searching for files. Direct drag-and-drop from Apple Photos to #Ivory uploads a 768 × 1024 image to Mastodon.

Exporting the photo from Photos to Finder before dragging it into Ivory produces a 2494 × 3325 image.

Photo uploaded through Ivory’s built-in photo importer produces a 2494 × 3325 image.

After pressing command-space to bring up Siri, you can use the up arrow key to scroll back through previous prompts and execute them again.

These days, not running the betas doesn’t keep Apple users from suffering some of the headaches that can come during beta season for those who do.
