long shot for any macOS gurus (please boost).

I have been having issues with apps remembering last used location in open and save dialogs. Also the ability to drag a Finder folder into and open or save dialog seems to be broken for me - this was very handy to use to quickly navigate to a folder. Googling seems to be fruitless (no surprises there).

Any ideas on how to nuke some setting or prefs file to restore these handy features?

Apple udostępniło trzecie wersje deweloperskiej bety iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate oraz pozostałych systemów. Wśród nowości: aktywna wreszcie personalizacja głosu Siri, nowa funkcja Live Recognition w dostępności, gwiazdkowe oceny zdjęć oraz dwie nowe tapety nawiązujące do nazwy tegorocznego macOS.

Miesiąc po pierwszej becie deweloperskiej Apple udostępniło dziś trzecią rundę testów dla iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS 27, tvOS 27 i visionOS 27. Tempo prac jest, jak na tę porę cyklu, standardowe, ale kilka zmian w tej konkretnej becie zasługuje na osobne omówienie, bo dotyczą funkcji, o których pisałem już wcześniej, a które dopiero teraz zaczynają realnie działać.

Największą z nich jest personalizacja głosu Siri, jak opisuje MacRumors. Opcja istniała w kodzie od pierwszej bety, ale pozostawała nieaktywna — teraz można wreszcie dostosować tempo i ekspresję głosu asystenta, wybierając spośród dwóch dostępnych na start wariantów bazowych. Warto od razu zaznaczyć, że funkcja wymaga iPhone’a 17 Pro lub iPhone’a Air, bo cała personalizacja odbywa się lokalnie na urządzeniu, a to wymaga odpowiednio dużej ilości pamięci RAM. Ci z Was, którzy korzystają ze standardowego iPhone’a 17, tej opcji jeszcze nie zobaczą. W Polsce nie zobaczymy jej wcale.

Grafika: MacRumors.Druga nowość, którą chciałbym wyróżnić, to Live Recognition w sekcji Dostępność. To funkcja wykorzystująca lokalną inteligencję do rozpoznawania i opisywania otoczenia widzianego przez aparat — z możliwością zadawania pytań o to, co aktualnie widać, oraz ustawienia domyślnego pytania, które ma być zadawane automatycznie. Dochodzi do tego wsparcie dla niestandardowych aktywności, co czyni z tej funkcji coś więcej niż tylko przyjemny dodatek dla wszystkich użytkowników — to realne narzędzie wspierające osoby niewidome i słabowidzące w codziennym funkcjonowaniu.

To zapowiedź AirPods Ultra z kamerami, gdzie Apple zapewne wykorzysta ten mechanizm niemalże 1:1.

Reszta zmian jest już bardziej kosmetyczna, ale miła. Aplikacja Przypomnienia dostała nową ikonę z listami zadań w stylu Liquid Glass. W ustawieniach Zdjęć pojawił się przełącznik Show Rating Controls, wyświetlający gwiazdkowe oceny na miniaturach — coś, co fotografowie amatorzy i profesjonaliści z pewnością docenią przy przeglądaniu większych bibliotek. Centrum sterowania pokazuje teraz szczegóły połączenia komórkowego nawet wtedy, gdy jesteśmy podłączeni do Wi-Fi, łącznie z siłą sygnału i informacją, czy korzystamy z LTE czy 5G. W Skrótach można wreszcie wybrać, czy nowy skrót ma się domyślnie otwierać w interfejsie opisu w naturalnym języku, czy w klasycznym, ręcznym edytorze.

Jest też coś, co spodoba się miłośnikom estetyki — nowa animacja tapety przy przeciąganiu w dół do centrum powiadomień, w której wycięty z tła obiekt tapety pojawia się teraz nad ekranem głównym lub aktywną aplikacją. Aaron Perris z MacRumors nazwał ją na X wyjątkowo płynną, co akurat w kontekście animacji systemowych Apple bywa komplementem nie zawsze oczywistym do wystawienia.

AirPods zyskują suwak w trybie Adaptive, pozwalający ręcznie ustawić proporcje między przezroczystością a redukcją szumów — do tej pory tryb ten działał w pełni automatycznie, bez możliwości ingerencji użytkownika.

W Mapach dodano dymek objaśniający, że preferencje trasy nie zniknęły, tylko przeniosły się pod interfejs opcji przy wyznaczaniu trasy — co akurat sugeruje, że sporo osób zgłaszało zagubienie tej funkcji po zmianach z poprzednich bet.

Przyciski Centrum sterowania na ekranie blokady mają teraz czarne ikony zamiast białych, które pojawiały się przy niektórych tapetach.

Sieć 5G+ natomiast jest już dostępna w Indiach u obsługujących ją operatorów.

Nowe tapety macOS Golden Gate

3. beta macOS Golden Gate otrzymała dwie nowe tapety nawiązujące wreszcie do samej nazwy systemu – Golden Gate Sunset i Golden Gate Night. Obie nowe wersje mają subtelny ruch widoczny na ekranie blokady przy odblokowywaniu Maca oraz w trybie wygaszacza ekranu — most Golden Gate, przewijające się światła i zmieniające się niebo w rytmie dnia i nocy.

W pełnej rozdzielczości pobierzecie je stąd, a wersję dla iPhone’a – stąd.

Ładny, spokojny motyw, wpisujący się w charakter tegorocznej edycji macOS znacznie lepiej niż sama liczba porządkowa.

iCloud+ z 2 TB przestrzeni konieczne!

Apple doprecyzowało też, że funkcje Apple Intelligence w aplikacji Dom będą wymagały co najmniej planu iCloud+ z 2 TB przestrzeni — co, przyznam, jest szczegółem technicznym, który łatwo przeoczyć, a który realnie wpłynie na to, kto z tych funkcji skorzysta.

Publiczna wersja beta całej rodziny systemów 27 ma pojawić się jeszcze w tym miesiącu — finalne wersje trafią do użytkowników jesienią, razem z premierą iPhone’a 18 Pro i iPhone’a Ultra.

Has anybody managed to run macOS 27 Golden Gate on macOS 15 Sequoia using VirtualBuddy? I’m trying to avoid upgrading to macOS 26 Tahoe if possible. Any success or issues?

I honestly cannot tell if age is failing me, if #macOS27 is failing me, or if my M1 MacBook Pro is failing me, but I am getting so many spurious inputs that cause my cursor to jump all over the place.

Like I will be typing in ivory and the cursor will jump back 50 characters, or a new window opens.

Maybe I should check for malware.
