I got an Ed Fong j-pole antenna, which lives in a 3/4" diameter PVC pipe.

Problem: How to hold it vertical and, ideally, up? (The nearby summit park, where I might deploy sometimes, has nothing to attach it to.)

Solution: Hey, I have a nice photographic tripod!

Problem: How to attach the antenna pole to the knobby vertical pole of the tripod?

I have this 2TB external nvme usb C drive, which is great, except the aluminum housing gets very warm during extended transfers. So much so, that I end up putting some ice in a bag and sitting it on top to cool it off.

If I don't, the transfer speeds tank below 1MBps. :fire_surprised:

I think i played too much video games… just repaired a handheld vaccuum by using 3 AA Batteries, 6 Magnets, Aluminium Foil, a bit of wire and hotmelt glue. Sounds exactly like a crafting recipe in a videogame, but it would of course not yield a functioning vacuum, but a railgun or something… #diy #macguyver #repair

It's been hot in the UK lately and set to get hotter, so I've put together a rudimentary evaporative cooler using a 200mm case fan running from an old motherboard. (I had intended to use a more minimalist mains-to-molex adaptor to power it, but it looks like the one I have is broken!) #DIY #heatwave #MacGuyver
