This evening's first target was going to be a mosaic of two nebulae. Alas, I got the framing a little off, and I ended up with 1 1/2 nebulae. At the top is half of the Eagle Nebula (M16), and down the bottom is M17, The Swan/Omega/Check mark/Horseshoe nebula.

In between them are a cluster and two smaller nebulae.

3 hours and 10 minutes, in 60s frames, @80 with a Ha/OIII filter.

#SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #EagleNebula aka #M16 is a young open cluster of stars about 5700 light years from Earth. The cluster contains approximately 8100 stars and includes the active area called the Pillars of Creation, made famous by a Hubble Telescope image. The nebula rose at about 10pm last night and set at about 12:30am but is only visible for me for about an hour and a half which is the longest it is visible all year. This image is 16 five minute exposures #StillLearning

So far, my best try at editing the #PillarsOfCreation in the #EagleNebula shot from #JWST (filters f090w, f187n, f200w, f335m and f444w).
