  1. Control of #piCorePlayer / #LyrionMusicServer via #android phone in this case is done via #Squeezer app, available via #fdroid. Setup is a breeze, filling in the IP address of the pi and making sure you're on the same WiFi network.
Attached to this toot some screenshots of Squeezer.
Submitting plays to #ListenBrainz via #SimpleScrobbler app, that automatically picks up the player as soon as you start using it. Does anyone else still use this? I see the app is not on F-Droid anymore.

Setup was relatively straight forward, as presented on docs.picoreplayer.org/how-to/
Most of it is covered in these docs, although simply mentioning that you can reach the pi directly via the IP address would be more useful than only mentioning that SSH is disabled by default and then explain how to reach it via SSH without enabling SSH.

  6. It's been a month since I set up #piCorePlayer with Lyrion Music Server (LMS) on my old Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ with #HifiBerry DAC Pro. Via the digital audio converter, the Pi is then connected to my stereo amplifier.

There's not really anything to look at. It's just a small box with cables in my combined bookcase/record cabinet.

At the same time, it's pretty great. 😍

Since I have no #streaming service subscription, this is a great way to play all the #FLAC and #MP3 files that I received with #record purchases, bought or received from #Bandcamp, and ripped from the CD's that I own. It also connects to Bandcamp, so you can listen to Bandcamp Weekly etc., or radio stations that broadcast online (, too).

Attached to this toot some screenshots of the desktop web version of LMS.
Submitting plays to #ListenBrainz via #WebScrobbler does not seem to work, so when controlling LMS via my laptop there are no scrobbles.

  11. Google Chromecasts out, ESP32s in! Just installed the three HiFi-ESP32s from Sonocotta and put the ESP32-A1S-AudioKit in the case one of my colleagues 3D printed for me.

  12. OK, does the Lyrion Music Server I set up the other day also do Bandcamp? Turns out it does. Just installed the Band's Campout plugin and I'm now listening to the preview songs. Thanks @jake4480 for reminding me about the preview songs!

  13. Time to ditch my Chromecast devices. Just installed Lyrion Music Server on my Raspberry Pi home server, powered up the ESP32-A1S Audio Kit I bought recently that has squeezelite-esp32 on it, added the Squeezebox (Lyrion Music Server) integration to my Home Assistant server and bam! instantly there's an awesome track playing in the attic.

  14. HA

Ok while trying to report the sync oddity with the WiiMs and the Logitech Squeezebox Radio's I've got I tripped over one of the 3 radios in my office that can sync up solidly.

Double checked, it's the converted UE.

The converted UE that can't use it's wifi because it's just broken or something.

The UE Radio that has a wired connection.

Yup, indication that the wifi on the Radio's has gotten poopier of late and I just need to flip all the Radios over to wired outright (and if they need to be away from ethernet, bridge them back in with a gl.inet router or something).

  15. @jzb @neil @jellyfin I'm also a Jellyfin user so I can try to help. What does Plexamp do that I should be looking for in a Jellyfin equivalent?
Fair warning, I've got a bunch of old Logitech Squeezebox players around so specifically for music, I tend to use #LyrionMusicServer

  17. Got a Logitech Squeezebox Boom off eBay (Circa 2008) and have it wired into Lyrion Music Server & Home Assistant. The audio quality is damn good; and it can be synced with other devices for multi-room audio. Definitely an excellent and cheap alternative to Spotify Connect and or Sonos. Lyrion Music Server even acts like an AirPlay proxy for my husband's iPhone. Works sans any central server in the cloud. #Music #Squeezebox #LMS #LogitechMusicServer #LyrionMusicServer #Spotify #SpotifyConnect #floss

Empfehlung!

  19. @anthony_steele Even though Logitech stopped producing their Squeezebox devices over a decade ago, the server part is continued as open source, called Lyrion Music Server nowdays, and there are a lot of options for players, from self-build using a Raspberry to commercial offerings
