Lynn Johnston visited my local bookstore on her signing tour today, so I went in to meet her. She was so friendly, and drew me a sketch of Elly Patterson from her comic strip "For Better or For Worse", which I grew up reading. I picked up a signed copy of "Remembering Farley" too.

Clean Feed promoted this album and the players were familiar, so I checked it out. Recorded in Oakland, 2001-2002, by Myles Boisen! How could I have missed this when it was released!? Not sure what Mr Lane is up to now, but New Magical Kingdom is a great example of modern jazz inspired chamber music.
