On the night of November 25th, 2021, a young woman, Shahd Ezz, walked to the centre of the Avenue of the Sphinxes in Luxor and began to chant in ancient Egyptian, in what was one of the first times the language had been performed aloud at a public ceremony.
'The First Call', was a song drawn from hymns inscribed on temple walls, sung in the Coptic language, and composed in collaboration with conductor Nader Abbassi and musician Ahmed el Mougy.
The text was translated with the help of an Egyptologist, Dr. Maysara Abdalah Hussein, whose role was to source and verify the ancient language before a melody was shaped onto it.

Para acabar el día (si, fue una matada de día de todo lo que vimos) visitamos el templo de #Luxor.
Este templo tiene un par de curiosidades:
1. Está unido con el templo de #Karnak por un paseo que tenía miles de esfinges a los lados. Hoy en día no quedan tantas obviamente.
2. Cuando quedó enterrado, el nivel del suelo subió. Edificaron una mezquita en lo alto. Tras la excavación y redescubrimiento del templo, se quitaron muchas cosas, pero la mezquita sigue allí, operativa. -

Empezamos uno de los días más intensos de nuestro viaje por #Egipto.
Primera parada: el valle de los reyes en #Luxor.
Un lugar espectacular donde enterraban a los faraones con todas sus reliquias.
Todas las tumbas estaban saqueadas, menos una: la tumba de #tutankamon
Aún no encontrando riquezas materiales en el interior, las tumbas se encuentran en bastante buen estado, conservando incluso pintura, algo que nos hace imaginar más allá cómo eran otras obras que ya carecen de ella.
