A, hopefully, refreshing picture for this hot summer day: I took it at dusk, one chilly afternoon in January 2018: a #HŽ 🇭🇷 Class 7122 diesel railcar is awaiting departure from #Lupoglav on the #Istria line. This is a former #SJ 🇸🇪 #Y1 type vehicle, nicknamed #Šveđanin (the Swede) by Croatian railfans.

#Lupoglav 🇭🇷 on the #Istria railway line in early March 2018: a Class 7122 #HŽ diesel railcar of Swedish design, and origin, is ready to leave for #Pula, the southern end of the line, right by the sea.

The #Istria railway line from #Slovenia 🇸🇮 to #Pula 🇭🇷 currently sees passenger workings only. A couple of years back, also freight trains were running here, as seen on this photo taken in October 2011: a #HŽ Class 2062 diesel makes a stop at #Lupoglav, with a southbound freight.
