Been a big week for our local spotted doves.

They come and ask for walnuts. We love to share. The sparrows get amongst it too. They bring their kids along. The doves tolerate them.

One of the sparrow teenagers decided he didn't want the dove hanging around anymore. Things got weird.

These fellas get a bad wrap on Norfolk Island. The locals say they're not really from here, and now there's too many of them.

Would be ironic to point out the not so distant history of how the "locals" came to live in Norfolk Island I suppose?

Every time we'd find a nice little patch of forest for a walk, there'd be a Piwa come join us. They watch to see if our feet kick up any bugs they can snack on. Lots of friendly Piwa on the island :)

The other Norfolk. Island that is. Feels like a lifetime ago, but it was only September. Meet some marvellous people on that trip.

I'm stuck here in my bedroom for a few days. Might finally get around to organizing my RAW files and video from recent travels.

Have enjoyed the company of some birds on this section of travel immensely. The Grosbeaks are making a home in rock walls in the building, while the Rufous-vented Tits are sneaking in under the roof.

Both are enjoying pine seeds.
