  1. Wish we had this in a higher res (without going back to 2005 DVD-ROMs!). Twenty-one years ago this week, Nicky Hilton and Jené Sais Quoi with the September 2005 issue of #Lucire. Can’t believe 21 years have flown by! #Lucire #NYC #NY #USA #modelling #NickyHilton #NickyHiltonRothschild #Indashio #JeneSaisQuoi

  2. Our travel editor is 78. We worked out he was my age (53) when we met. We all love #Lucire—this is why we stick at it.

  3. Completely forgot we had featured Taryn Manning back in 2014—years before I interviewed her for #Lucire. Small world! (Note: this link goes to Lucire’s Facebook page.)

  4. You read it here first! There will be two issue 53 covers, photographed by Dave Richards (Jess S. in black) and Jon Moe (actress Samantha Rose Baldwin in white). Jess will appear in most markets while Samantha will initially appear in digital editions retailed by Scopalto. More details soon, and you can order our new print number at lucire.biz/product/lucire-issu #Lucire #FashionMagazine #fashion #mode #moda #MagazineDeMode #SamanthaRoseBaldwin #NYC #NY #USA #Aotearoa #NZ #Ōtautahi

  5. @MatthewTitus88 Doggone, those were crazy times. We were involved in Snakes on a Plane. There are copies of #Lucire on board in the seat pockets during the main Vancouver shoot. I looked closely on the DVD and couldn't see any of them! (It wasn't product placement, we were helping out the production designer.)
At the time the movie was called Pacific Air 121. The magazines were then reused for the Al Pacino starrer Two for the Money in Rene Russo's character's salon (also not visible!).

  6. Black Friday sale at libriz.co and that includes copies of #Lucire from issue 48 on! Ten per cent off store-wide, just use code BF12026 at the check-out. The code is valid for two goes per customer. Offer ends once the clock ticks over to the 14th.

  7. Built even tougher
Jack Yan thinks he knows the type of buyer for the #Kia Tasman, the company’s first civilian pick-up truck: someone who’s not afraid of their inner machismo

  8. Another student project using #Lucire. You never know, one of our crew did mock Lucire pages while they were studying!

  9. Took an hour but went back to the mall and their computers were fixed by then. This was a mission for my partner as she needed some powder and concealer. They had never heard of Bare Minerals. I realize I am not your typical dude because of my exposure to these brands in #Lucire, but you'd hope that people in the trade would know. But if you're a monopoly, maybe there's no incentive to know! Wound up with Revlon. These days Bare Minerals is owned by a big US corporation so what's the difference?

  10. Because we will always share our covers with you all here on Mastodon first … Here is issue 52, now out! Cover photographed by Frankie Marin; make-up by Elizabeth Follert; hair styled by Hailey Adickes; and modelled by Maia Bosch. Order now!

  11. @SimonCHulse Here is a selection of mine, 2006–2022. The short ones are from another country. Even our UK ones match the NZ ones. #Lucire

  12. Welcome, international issue no. 51! Lots of great stories in this one (even by our standards), plus our incredible visuals. Cover photographed by Signe Vilstrup, modelled by Wiktoria Darda, styled by Panayiotis Panouklias, make-up by Dimitra Altani, hair by Gabriel Georgiou, and clothing by Dimitra Antonea.

  13. Nice to see where copies of #Lucire wind up. A bit of exposure to four million Instagrammers.

  14. As part of his look at internet history, @ricmac posted a screenshot of the original Amazon.com website from 1995 last week at:

    cybercultural.com/p/internet-1

We still have, on our server, an Amazon.com #logo from 1997. But what is more interesting (we think) is our original logo, which is also on our server. An off-the-shelf #Helvetica Black, not even antialiased that well, made using freeware … #Lucire #design #retro #history #typography

  15. Looks like we’ve won another award at #Lucire, hopefully it’s not a vanity publishing one …
