Kann der Tochter Satans nur zustimmen. Der neue #Dracula-Film (»…A Love Tale« 2025; »…Die Auferstehung« bei uns) von #LucBesson ist ein verdammtes Meisterwerk … halt für Irre und Überdrehte, die bitte gerne einmal alles durch den Fleischwolf drehen und Spaß haben, aus dem Gatsch was eigenes zu manschen. Hauptsache: schön opulent, schwelgend albern & tragisch, einfach so lang zu viel und zu innig, bis grotesk gesehen was Rundes zum drin rumkugeln entsteht.

I often hear how good action film-making is always clear and easy to follow. Camera isn't shaking like crazy and editing isn't filled with ADHD mania. Yet the more I think about it the less this makes sense.

June and John is Luc being Besson with a smartphone
It was nice to take a short break from the grind of trying to make CGI stuff all day long and watch a movie. And who could be a better film-maker to casually enjoy, but Luc Besson, who after all these reviews I did of his films, I start to feel like I understand, similarly to how a therapist might understand his client? His 2025 low budget film June and John is undeniably Luc Besson, even if the fact that the film was largely shot on a smartphone makes it look kind of weird and slightly amateurish.

Vista la nueva versión de #DraculaALoveTale del 2025 y dirigida por #LucBesson (que personalmente no me cae bien). Se inspira muchísimo visualmente sin disimulo en la adaptación de Coppola pero para mi gusto me ha gustado bastante más: la interpretación de los actores (Drácula, Mina y su amiga María) es espectacular y, a pesar de que la historia ya la conocemos, hace mucho más énfasis en la relación entre Vlad y Elisabeta aumentando la carga emotiva.
Un amor que trasciende la muerte y el tiempo y un villano que no quería serlo.

Denn er überwältigt. Er ist so traditionell, wie modern. Schnelles, brutales und doch sehr moralisches Action-Kino aus Frankreich. (3Sat, Wh.)

J'ai complètement loupé sa sortie.
Le point vu est axé sur l' histoire d'amour. Le film n'est pas très sérieux, mais on finit par s'attacher au personnage. Les femmes sont un peu trop hystériques et complètement soumises, c'est gênant, le Dracula joue bien le mâle dans son désespoir ou dans sa toute puissance. Le prêtre essaie de rééquilibrer le tout avec son obsession : débarrasser le monde de ce type toxique.
