Rynek Kolejowy also interviewed the CEO of the newly created Lubuski Transport Publiczny, the Lubusz Voivodeship's idea for a train and bus operating company. The headline and lead float the idea that they could get started with the Lubsko and Międzychód lines that are being reactivated, though the topic isn't really expanded on in the article itself - and the position of LTP's CEO seems to be that it is currently more important to get timetables on the existing lines into shape, with a mininum being 2 h Takt on the local lines and 1 h Takt on the main lines. They are aiming receive the necessary safety certification for running trains by the end of this year and carve out maintenance space somewhere in Czerwieńsk - whether they manage a deal to take over the existing facilities from PKP CargoTabor or not.

Warwickshire County Council is refreshing its Local Transport Plan, and for the past couple of months has had its draft version in consultation for people to comment. That consultation ends on 20 November, and I have finally managed to complete a read through of all of the main strategy documents, compiling notes on what I find good, bad, and somewhere in between, along with my suggestions for improvements.

CW: Local Transport Plan and Car Dependency
Still going through the #LocalTransportPlan - this is a big piece of work! I'm on to the Managing Space Strategy.
One statement which has jumped out at me suggests #WarwickshireCountyCouncil perhaps doesn't quite understand what #CarDependency is.
Car dependency *always* negatively affects people's lives and #WCC should work to reduce/eliminate it everywhere - rural and urban. There should always be another travel option besides driving.

I'm beginning to look at the #MotorVehicle Strategy part of the #LocalTransportPlan - and I can feel my blood pressure rising.
Just how awful and #carCentric is this line?
"Roads also provide a vital connection for those less able to use forms of transport other than cars."
Where exactly do people walk, wheel, and cycle? What do buses use? 🤦♂️

Still working through #Warwickshire's draft #LocalTransportPlan, having read the Core Document, #ActiveTravel Strategy, & #PublicTransport Strategy.
Lots to like, but also a number of issues. Two things keep coming up:
1. "Encourage" appears too often when "enable" must be the primary focus.
2. Use of language like "we will seek to" and "we will strive" instead of the more powerful "we will". This devalues commitments to near meaningless.

Question for all you transport-focused people: do you consider "informal car share" and car clubs as public transport?
My instinctive reaction is no, this is still private car transport - but maybe I am wrong.
