  1. I am now told that this was someone who was supposed to be at #LPSC2025.

Require that our professional associations loudly object to this; planetary scientists.

And may LPI yell at every member of Congress from Texas.

  3. Quick reminder, tonight at 6:30 p.m. CDT (one hour from now) I will be presenting my virtual poster about mars rover photogrammetry and image processing.
You can find the zoom link on my iPoster, or if you comment under this post I'll send it to you via DM.

  5. At the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference for the first time in 22 years! What fun that my career has circled back around to Mars. If you want to talk Mars helicopters, stop by Row 19b #lpsc2025

  7. I am reading through some #LPSC2025 abstracts today.

    From Planetary Protection:

Moores et al. 2025, "A Microbial Survival Model for the Permanently Shadowed Regions of the Moon Shows Long-Term Survival of Terrestrial Microbial Forward Contamination" - hou.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2025 .

Maybe not send astronauts into the permanently shadowed regions; rather than sending robots.

    For multiple reasons.

  9. This is again a reminder that managers do not have to follow illegal executive orders.

NASA is part of the executive branch. That means there is NO option to not obey the Executive Orders.

  11. Menten et al #LPSC2025, shallow subduction of the Europa's ice shell.

Subducted plates on Europa might be descending at really shallow angles, maybe about 5 degrees. They modelled basal heating with different salt concentrations. They found that there might be liquid water lenses within maybe 3 km of Europa's surface!

That might even be detectable with Europa Clipper's REASON radar instrument!

  13. If you're attending the conference, you can find my iPoster for some more interactive goodness and I'd be happy to see you during the virtual poster session on Wednesday!

Otherwise you can already read more about this project in my abstract: hou.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2025

  15. With about to start, it's time to share what I've been working on during the last months.
This is a new high resolution 3D model of the Mont Mercou outcrop, that I made during my recent internship at LPG Nantes. 🧵

  17. If you are going to the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (#LPSC2025) next week, please take the time to reflect on the future #PlanetaryScience and to use the time at the conference to organize and prepare for the future.

  19. #LPSC2025 abstracts dropped!

First on the #JezeroDeltaScience list: stratigraphy analysis of Bright Angel on both channel "shores". Interesting clues and puzzles on the southern side.

  21. Submitted my Lunar and Planetary Science Conference abstract today:

Geological History of the Huygens Landing Site, Titan.
    Abstract 2237.

    Haiku:

    Huygens probe landed
    On a distant icy world
    What did it teach us?
