The streets near me have been disrupted by roadworks to make them more pedestrian friendly but thankfully now that nonsense is over and nature is healing.

Today our lovely community went out to make the most of our calm streets and the #LowTrafficNeighbourhood. Walking, riding, scooting. Kids, grownups, dogs, an amount of dressing up. With Ice Cream at the end! Beautiful!
The #LTN is currently under threat of removal thanks to our local councillors - and it was so nice to do something positive to show what a difference it all makes.
The local anti-low-traffic-neighbourhood people have been getting people to put up posters saying “Stop road closures” (no roads are actually closed, but whatevs). Time to fight back.

Another day, another consultation about the Withington #LowTrafficNeighbourhood.
This time was much more well-ordered than the big public meeting. 4 tables for one-to-one chats about it.

The main anti-folk all in attendance with placards and fussing people in the queue. Plus a few faces of people who I know to be supportive.
Feeling slightly depressed about it - if they rip it all out at the end of the trial it will be such a major step backwards.

In terms of traffic displacement, LTNs are broadly neutral, increases and reductions of traffic on peripheral roads balance each other out.

There are roadworks on my road at the moment, working effectively as a temporary modal filter preventing through-access - and it's great given there are no speeding drivers racing down the road. As far as I know this is causing precisely zero problems for residents too, given access is possible either side of the works. There's certainly nothing on Facebook that I've seen.
A permanent restriction would be good and workable I think.
