All I got in return were explanations of why it's a #GoodThing.🙄 It seems to be a workaround for shortcomings in the way federation handles hashtags. I say fix the shortcomings. In the meantime, I just add a lot of #pointless #hashtags to my #toots to make tags.pub #WorkHarder.

Also, it really pisses me off that the system converts #CamelCase to #lowercase.

Here's my hot take: UPPER CASE LABELS in any sort of medium, except code, are just fine. One might want to make a group name or a short title with whatever quirks they put in. This is especially the *case* with design that uses it, because glyphs might differentiate in height once you add a lower case letter, making it look wavy, while pure CAPS just slide off from each other. There is barely any need to compromise author's stylistic choice, and reproducing is as easy as copy-pasting the thing.
