  1. Recently I re #watched the Australian TV series #Lovechild (2014-2017)
    Currently on Stan inAustralia, possibly also 9Now

    Synopsis;
    The lives of staff and residents at a fictional Kings Cross Hospital for unwed mothers, in Sydney in 1969.

    Social history, includes an introduction (or for some of us, a reminder) about just how odd life was in 1969 Australia.

    Topics touched on: illegitimacy at birth; the associated baby industry; racism Australia style; “women’s lib” (and many of the reasons it was necessary); green bans to save housing (area in sydney); the vietnam war; draft dodging; coppers being bastards;
    … all the reasons Gough Whitlam was necessary…

    oh, and people renting rooms in boarding houses

    Well written and well made. And some classic lines. (Miranda Tapsell explaining roman catholicism as taught to her on the mission 😆😆)

    I liked all the music in this show (though the music in this trailer is just too loud and annoying)

    The federal government’s *Find and Connect* website provides a brief overview of the end of *illegitimacy* in Australia.

  6. @zombiewarrior I installed LiteSpeed in 2023. I didn't know NGINX as well at the time, and i was trying to learn more than Apache.
    Litespeed (open source version of course) ... it has like a graphical UI type dashboard admin. I don't like that kind of thing, but i think they really push for you to use it.

    a lot of it is reminiscent of Apache. some kind of NGINX/ Apache #lovechild
    pretty sure it uses/ maintains (whatever the term) .htaccess files
    unlike #NGINX, which ignores them.

    this is cool / decent. maybe if you've never seen it.

  19. Song of the Day: Orville Peck - DEAD OF NIGHT

    This is a song that is hard to categorize. I'll give it a try #AltCountry #Psychedelic #Crooning #Surf #Rock

    Orville reminds me of a #Gay #Masked #Musical #LoveChild of Lana Del Rey and Chris Isaac. I hope they agree :)
