También hay un elemento menos visible pero muy presente en los registros: el propio papel de los exorcismos.
Al ser públicos, repetidos y dirigidos por autoridades religiosas, no solo intentaban “curar” el fenómeno, sino que en cierto modo lo alimentaban.
Cada interpretación, cada ritual y cada pregunta podía reforzar el comportamiento que intentaba eliminar.

Con el tiempo, el caso ha quedado como una mezcla difícil de separar.
No hay una sola explicación limpia.
Hay capas superpuestas: miedo real, creencias profundas, tensiones sociales, intereses políticos y una comunidad entera atrapada en una historia que se fue cerrando sobre sí misma.

Quizá por eso Loudun sigue siendo incómodo.
Porque no se puede colocar fácilmente en una categoría.
Y porque deja una idea que todavía resuena: a veces el “demonio” no es una entidad, sino el nombre que una época le da a lo que no sabe controlar.
