Need a signature cocktail for Election Day? Try the Alameda Lotus.
I concocted it this summer; it's been my go-to cocktail since Kamala entered the race 😁
1 ½ oz St. George Botanivore gin
¾ oz crème de violette
½ oz Ferrand dry Curaçao
1 oz Meyer lemon juice, freshly squeezedShake with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with thin slice of lotus root tossed in baker’s sugar.

If you're looking for a cocktail to sip while watching the debate on Tuesday, I recommend my Alameda Lotus:
1 ½ oz St. George Botanivore gin
¾ oz crème de violette or liqueur de violette
½ oz Ferrand dry Curaçao
1 oz Meyer lemon juice, freshly squeezed (about the juice of 1 lemon)
(optional: a splash of elderflower liqueur)Shake with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a thin slice of lotus root tossed in baker’s sugar.
