I bought some white PVC patches to fix the holes in our fence—two different kinds at two different times. And now? I can't find either one. Over a week ago, I went on a full-blown search, only to come up empty-handed. Eventually, I gave up, figuring that if I just waited, I’d stumble across them sooner or later. But so far? Not a.

Where do lost things go? Do they fade into some mysterious void after a certain amount of time? It’s strange how often I tuck something away in a “safe spot” only to completely forget where that obvious place was. Maybe it’s not the objects disappearing into the void—maybe it’s my memory.

If I ever do find them, I’ll probably just think, “Oh, yeah.” Until then, maybe I’ll do what I did last time and just reorder.

I was looking in the silver ware drawer this morning. We actually don't have "silverware" it just the place where we keep our knives, spoons, forks, and things like that. We have a set of multicolored chopsticks that we use when we order Chinese or Japanese food. Particularly, with noodles and sushi. Neither one of us are handy enough to handle rice with chop sticks. Sticky rice makes it easier though. Anyway, back on point, one blue chopstick is missing. Now I'm wondering what happened to the blue chopstick. Did it get sucked into the same vortex as missing socks. Should I take a picture of the remaining blue chopstick and put up posters around town?

I made another attempt to get out on my motorcycle yesterday. I pulled out my leather jacket and helmet, when I realized I needed to change my license plate. I had just gotten a new Veteran's plate a couple of months ago. It was one of those things that I didn't bother with while I was working. Well ... I've looked everywhere and the darn thing just vanished along with the new and old registrations ... poof. I finally went down to the DNV to get a new one and they didn't have any of that kind of plate left and were just placing an order.

The batteries in my wireless keyboard went dead as I started to type this morning. I have some batteries somewhere in a small leather covered box, but for some reason, I cannot find the box. My office is in such disarray, that It could be hidden. I've looked all over to no avail. Finally, I took the batteries out of a small flashlight that I used for digging into computers. I'll order more batteries today, but I bet I'll find the box ... so strange, it's one of those things that has set in the same spot for years. Hmmm ... I think I'll spend the day straightening my office, its been on my list of "things to do tomorrow" for a long time.

A #LostThings found by one of my trusty scouts, somewhere in Dublin. No doubt it was set down "just for a moment". I did not ask if she tried it on any nearby doors (but that would not be like her).

In the supermarket parking lot, a little purple elephant. I moved it to the sidewalk, 2 metres away so it would not get run over. Fresh too, wasn't there 10-15 minutes before when I arrived. #LostThings

I fear one of my neighbours left a #LostThings behind. Moved it to a handy fence. It was still there when I got home a few hours later. Should I worry that #LostThings are so close to home?

I lost my chai necklace and a Magen David when biking home from work last autumn. The chain broke. And ever since then, I have felt a heightened sense of dread. I’d like to say I’m not superstitious but I probably am. 😳 I was given the necklace when I was 18 so I was pretty attached to it.
