@knitting Blocked and dry! Finally! Now, to put it away until winter.

I deliberately made this one with a ton of positive ease so I could layer underneath and so I could move easily wearing it doing winter chores.

@kylecassidy I bought it when we were in Iceland in March and it inspired me to make my first Icelandic sweater. I've just started in the final part of sweater #3. This may have created a monster!

What a fabulous book. Not only is the story of the #lopapeysa fascinating, it also truly captures the feeling of that remarkable and amazing country.

Finally getting to block the #lopapeysa I started when we were in Iceland in March. Not quite cold enough to wear this, but cold weather will come again soon enough.

My needles were lonely, so I cast on another project. This one is for a friend. She chose the colors & bought the yarn & I'm making the sweater.

I decided to make this a 'bespoke' design & used the planning worksheets from Tin Can Knits to put together a #StrandedColorwork sweater.

I'm really getting into this #StrandedColorwork

Just for kicks, I estimated the sweater was made of approximately 40,000 stitches! Knit over 38 days, mostly while watching baseball games or on a recent road trip.

Got a lot of the yoke done on our road trip today. This is the free anniversary pattern by Istex. To be honest, it was a frustrating pattern because it was easy to make a small mistake in the central motif. There was a bit of frogging and swearing involved.

The odd stripes in the center of the pattern are my extra stitches for steeking.

Ahoy #knitting fedi-folk. I have a question about reading color charts for stranded colorwork sweaters.

I'm making a men's size large. After joining the sleeves, I have a total of 288 stitches to start the yoke. The chart shows the repeat (16 stitches) and indicates the start of row for the large sweater adds 7 stitches before the repeat. (See attached photo).

But 288 is divisible by 16. Why not just start the pattern with the repeat??

I feel like I'm missing something.

Today was a day for #making

I got on the potter's wheel for about an hour this afternoon & worked on my spouse's #lopapeysa this evening. (Baseball games on TV are excellent for knitting. )

Both sleeves are done and I started on the body tonight.
