I had the pleasure to help my partner with her #jacquard #loom, debug something that can rip your arm off! The better web dev!
Hard to say what did it in the end:
- Wiresharked traffic between PC and loom - it's telnet, no UDP, have to listen actively!
- measured some traces, confirmed 5V signal from the hall sensor
- wiggled some connectors, like the loom's network card
- reprogrammed the motor controller to utilize+isolate the other two hall sensors -
And it's live! Generate your own customized vectors for a frame loom here:

PR is up if any of y'all want to get weaving:
https://github.com/florianfesti/boxes/pull/946Note it hasn't been merged yet, so until then you'll need to pull down my branch and run the thing locally.

My daughter decided to see if she liked rug-making, so she made a mini-loom using a piece of cereal box cardboard, long bamboo sticks, and medical tape.
Naturally it worked, because she is quite clever. I am very proud of her creativity and ingenuity.
She does, indeed, like rug-making, and she will likely invest in a larger, sturdier loom.

I finally parametrized my rotating-heddle frame loom on Thingiverse so that I could make it an arbitrary size. So now I have a mini bracelet loom :)
I still need to clean up the code, and then I'll submit a PR to https://boxes.hackerspace-bamberg.de/

Looms.
And those things we have in the attic. I'm not sure what they are for. Some kind of winder. Perhaps for setting up the warp or just storing yarn?
Its quite fun to go to the local museum and find pieces you have in your attic and work out what they were used for! :)
