On my way to #supermellowbeachcruise with my not-quite finished longboard bag. Mistakes were made. I'll try to reinforce the back so the weight of the board doesn't sag and make me worry about the ring tearing off. Also missing the pocket and Velcro to secure the flaps wrapping around the trucks.
The trim goes nicely with the wheels, though!

Got another longboard a couple of weeks ago, and as I start hand sewing a new bag for it I thought I might as well share the first one I made. I don't think I've seen other skateboard bags in other make-your-own-gear posts so hopefully this still counts.
This is the biggest sewing project I've taken on and made a lot of mistakes, but I'm pleased with the results.

About 2012 I saw a video that I still think about and try to find on occasion. It featured a group of young women long-boarding down a spectacular mountain set to a well known, modern-ish piece of instrumental music. Overall the vibes were flowy, dreamy, free. I know it was on Vimeo. It had spectacular production.
Renewed my search because eldest has just decided she’s a skateboarder now.
Posting on the off chance you’ll help me find it. Boosts welcome.

So as part of my path out of Burnout I am actively restarting activities I used to enjoy, but that I stopped doing for one reason or another.
So I went #longboarding with a friend for the first time in YEARS on the weekend - and it was SO GOOD
I have decided I am done with "you're too old for" and "you're just cruising and doing some steps" ✌️

Super plaisir à faire le 6h de la nivernaise, où j'ai fini premier en catégorie longboard (nous étions 1....). Malgré un vent assez fort, j'ai pu atteindre mon objectif des 100km et faire une performance honorable, vu le peu d'entraînement de cette année.
Pas mal de gestion de crampes à partir du km60, j'ai donc dû ralentir le rythme .
En même temps des pointes de vent de face à 45kmh, c'était costaud.
Comme d'habitude l'ambiance était géniale, et l'esprit roller super sympa ! Un beau 6h, avec une belle équipe, et en plus il a pas plu!#LDP #longdistancepushing #longdistancepumping #longboarding

Performance décevante jusqu'à ce que je me rende compte à la pause avant retour que mon train arrière est très freinant.

Une belle balade ! Pause d'une heure à 56km. Très heureux de retrouver un peu de niveau. Les crampes menaçant dès le 60eme mes cuisses ont besoin de plus d' entraînement, mais faut avouer que j'avais un très bon rythme. Un petit caillou m'a eu au 45éme km, sans réelle conséquences qu'un peu de peau en moins, malgré mes 20km/h.
