Good morning Fedi friends. It was a very chilly 0c this morning & even now is only 1c. The sun is up & shining though & it’s going to reach a very pleasant 18c.
Yesterday was a very full day, up at 5.30am to make sure all my house sit animals were dealt with, food, short walk etc before being picked up by a friend to head down to the alternative farming expo in Seymour for the day, a 2hr drive away. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did but it was fabulous, definitely a focus on farming, but it’s also so much more. There were plants - I bought 2, alternative therapies, animals including camels 🐫 that I was able to stroke & scratch, very gentle animals. Boutique gins & whiskey, clever craft people - I bought a hand carved wooden chain. Something for everyone. It was a fabulous day out. Arancini & a coffee for lunch.
When we headed home though things got a bit tricky, we were diverted at Euroa & again at Violet Town due to a B double accident on the freeway & it added nearly another 2 hours to the trip. Not that it bothered us to be delayed, but it meant our day out was around 12hrs long. We also rang the police to tell them about another B double on the freeway that was all over the road & as we passed him I looked up into the cab & the guy is leaning over his steering wheel, looking at his phone 🤷🏼♀️😳 - another accident waiting to happen. Absolutely shocking.
I was so tired once I got back to the sit & feeling guilty about leaving the animals for so long, although they were fine.
So today is going to be quiet day after I’ve walked the dogs & it’ll be a good long walk this morning.

- Meeting with another enterprise storage vendor discussing Inference storage scale-out solutions
- Fixed cgroups v2 controls for Ollama and OpenWebUI, tuning for ZFS on Optane P3608 array
- Fixed research data tables re: Dopaminergic causal effects on Chronic Sleep Deprivation patient studies
- Fixed Z-Wave home automation devices with Hubitat and mmWave presence sensors
- Continued new blog post titled, "There is no nobility in your suffering"
- Took a 40min nap, compensation for a 04:22 to 19:54 work day -

It's a new week, so let's discuss what we all did for the weekend and what the week ahead has in store for each of us.
For me, it's working from 7am - 4pm today and after that it'll be time to relax and then enjoy some video games with friends this evening. Haven't played with them in nearly 2 weeks it seems.

#LongDay. Smoke detector by the elevator goes off during the service (the children's minister having used matches). Deacons and I rush out. Turn it off and keep it off with rosewood cane. Head-scratching ensues. Surprised to learned that the system is a hodgepodge. Code? What Code? (Nothing like potential exposure to liability to light a fire under someone's ass). And, and, and...! #Family conference. Brother and his wife Get A Clue about Mother's mercifully gentle decline.

Had my 6yr old granddaughter from 9am until nearly 6.30pm. We’ve been berry picking, wandering the shops of Beechworth eating ice cream then some $ to spend in the lolly shop for her & her little brother plus a little something for Mummy & Daddy. Then we checked out Woolshed Falls. Lunch back in Wodonga followed by an eye appointment for me then home to mine where we drew pictures on rainbow scratch paper & watched the Trolls dvd. I don’t know about my granddaughter but I’m pooped lol! #LongDay #FunDay

18 minutes left in the work week. I am completely exhausted. I thought I got a decent night’s sleep last night, but right now I am completely out of gas. I have nothing left.
17 minutes until the weekend. I’m looking forward to going to bed early tonight and sleeping late tomorrow. Wouldn’t that be nice? Sounds like time well spent to me! I might be a smidge bias though, I’m not sure.
Not that it matters, but I am just going to mention that I spent my lunch break wrapping xmas presents today. I didn’t get through everything I needed to, but I am feeling pretty good about what I did get to. Time well spent, indeed.
15 minutes to go until quittin’ time. I am so ready.

My work shifts are weird.
Today is a long day. I started at 9am, I finish at 8pm. It is punctuated by a break in the early afternoon of about 2.5 hours. Is that long enough that I can call it a siesta?
So I’m sitting in my car (coz it’s a bit windy and I don’t want another migraine) overlooking the water as it ripples all the way out to the horizon, eating my lunch, and thinking about things I shouldn’t.
I should have gone home for a nap.
