For some reason the London 2012 Olympics came to mind today, and I thought I’d revisit the opening ceremony. Thirteen years on, the brilliance of it hasn’t faded. Recreating the Industrial Revolution and forging the Olympic rings in a few minutes is absolute genius. (Plus, there’s a lot of comedy!)

Saw a thread on another site where a bunch of #Brits were in agreement that the #2012 #Olympics opening ceremony was better than #paris2024 because it had better "branding" and more appeals to "#British history and culture."

IMO Kudos to France for having an inclusive , unique, and diverse, ceremony that didn't, like #London2012, ignore its colonial legacy.

Things like are why nearly the entire world was cheering against #England at the #Euros.

Musím říct, že formát, kdy je program ceremoniálu zahájení Olympiády 🇫🇷 prokládán nástupy národních týmů (tentokrát na lodích) se mi vůbec nelíbí. 👎Přijde mi to takové zmatečné. 🙈

@sarahjanesmith I know what you mean. Whenever I need cheering up I put on the London 2012 Opening Ceremony soundtrack. My small part in helping make the #London2012 Gamesmakers happen is definitely a career highlight.
