  4. #TIL There is an offline version of the Logi Options+ software that does not have the "AI Prompt builder" or any other online bloatware features and analytics. It is intended for business environments, but can be downloaded, installed, and works just fine with the MX3 mouse.

  5. This is getting ridiculous. The AI madness is infiltrating more and more things. Even when I go to lengths to disable AI for my mouse/keyboard (what?) multiple times by changing config files, it just keeps reenabling itself - and now it seems it tries to read unrelated memory?

None of this is reassuring. We're going the wrong way!

  6. So I noticed a new folder called “ai_overlay_tmp” in my home folder. Turns out it was created by #Logitech’s #LogiOptions+ app. Why TF does my mouse need #AI!?

Uninstalled Logitech's #bloatware and I’m now using an #OpenSource #MacOS app called #MacMouseFix to assign custom actions to my #MXMaster's forward and back buttons. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to support custom actions on the thumb button.

  7. Pet peeve of the day: Companies that hide functionality behind a login requirement.

Today's offender: #Logitech with their #logiOptions: Why do I have to log in to use *Smart Actions* – which are just small scripts similar to Apple Shortcuts?

There is no sane reason why they shouldn't work offline.

And no, dear Logitech, you have no business knowing what scripts I run.
