The recreated crannog on Loch Tay, at the amazing Scottish Crannog Centre near Kenmore in Perthshire. It has since been sadly destroyed but has been replaced nearby. This is a type of dwelling that 2,500 years ago would have been a common sight across Scotland and Ireland. Discovery Land Company (DLC) plans to create a private resort for the mega-rich on over 8000 acres of land at #TaymouthCastle, #Kenmore, #GlenLyon and areas around Loch Tay. They threaten to destroy natural habitats & cultural heritage along with land access rights for the people of Scotland.

I request an immediate halt to PKC assessing any and all further Discovery Land Company planning applications until they have made public their 10 year plan for the Taymouth Castle development. This was requested by John Swinney and Pete Wishart at their meeting with DLC in order that the public can be made aware of their full intentions at Taymouth.

After a fire destroyed a replica iron age house that stood on stilts in Loch Tay, volunteers are working on building a replacement for the Scottish Crannog Centre. Visiting Castell Henllys made a huge impression on me, so I am really glad that the reconstruction work is taking place to hopefully inspire lots more people in the future.
