  1. Honestly, I don't have strong opinions on #localgovt, but the hypocrisy of acting like #ThreeWaters was an imminent threat to democracy, then forcing their own agenda on councils is making me crazy.

  2. Let the #MiningSector fight it in the Courts. The WA Govt’s statements about enacting new legislation to prevent #LocalGovt from rating mining companies is a cleart attempt to circumvent the legal system and therefore #AntiDemocratic and should be deemed #Unconstitutional. IMO.

  3. This is what climate leadership looks like. Not the “axe the tax” baloney pedalled by Poilievre or the flip-flop vote pandering by Eby & Singh.

  5. In #Deming and #LunaCounty, these two local governments have been struggling to find ways to allow public input without the meetings becoming a circus.

    Public comments can sometimes bring a lot of entertainment and some spectacle to a dry municipal meeting, but they decided there needed to be limits.

    Deming got rid of public comments altogether -- but began holding monthly "town hall" meetings to let folks ask questions and comment at length. 1/2

    I dug out my smartest outfit for the occasion.
