  1. I'm watching BBC election coverage for a bit. They were talking about how opinion polls have changed over the last 4 years since these seats were contested, failing to recognise some councils are electing full councils instead of just a third because of boundary changes. I know that's the case in at least 2 Northeast England Councils.

  2. This election is reminding me of a twitter account that I used to follow in the days when twitter was still useable. It was called BritainElects and it had coverage of elections across the country. Providing basic results data. Mastodon is missing something like this.

  3. Well. The polls are closed. When will we start to get an idea of how bad the result is ?

  4. 1 hour of voting left in the UK local elections.

If you haven't voted yet. Please get your arse to your polling station and vote!

  5. In "how to ruin my weekend" news my ward has flipped from 3 Labour to 3 Tory. Da fuk. All the other wards in #oldham are turning up losses for the Tories. #ukpol #LocalElectionsUK #sad #gtto

  6. Generally looking like a mauling for the Tories and one that looks like Labour and Lib Dems will be able to capitalise on come the election.

Seen a few places where the Tories still strong, or lost to localists, indicating both Labour and Lib Dem weak in the area, but given these don't include fucking Windsor (the king is no longer locally represented by a Tory) I can live with that.

More thoughts later when more results are in.

  7. Disappointing #LocalElection22 result in #Nuneaton and #Bedworth, gaining an additional two Conservative councillors. Although we also gained an additional Green councillor as a silver lining. Shows just how damaged Labour are here, I think.
