Longtime #Massachusetts State #Police Union leader and his fave registered state lobbyist have both been resentenced in federal #court for a years-long “organized criminal enterprise” to defraud union members and the state.
Both Dana Pullman, then State Police Association of Massachusetts (#SPAM) president, and Anne Lynch, a top cop #union #lobbyist, were convicted in 2022 of a scheme where Pullman would use his role to steer biz to Lynch and receive copious cash kickback$.
"Dana Pullman and Anne Lynch ran the Massachusetts State Police union like an old-school racket, siphoning money from troopers, deceiving the Commonwealth, hiding income from the IRS and then lying when they got caught. Their conduct was deliberate, sustained and corrosive,” said United States Prosecuting Attorney Leah B. Foley.

Informativer Artikel: "Braune IT und rechte Influencer" >>[...] Im Internet findet man zahlreiche #Profile, die #Hofer als #IT-Unternehmer und Gastautor zeigen. Er publizierte Gastbeiträge in IT- und #Computerzeitschriften, in denen er über #Digitalisierung oder KI-gestützte Bewerbungen schreibt. Bei der Publikation CIO ist er als Autor genauso zu finden wie bei der #Computerwoche und bei #Springer Professional.
Dass diese Gastbeiträge seit Anfang 2023 überall im Netz auftauchen, könnte Marketing für seine Firma sein – oder der Versuch, von #Suchmaschinenfunden zu seiner Person abzulenken, die dem #Image als innovativer Unternehmer schaden könnten. Es wäre nicht das erste Mal [..] Denn was vor kurzem nur wenigen bekannt und angesichts des Allerweltsnamens nicht so einfach herauszufinden war: Hofer ist langjähriger #Rechtsradikaler. Er war Bezirksvorsitzender der #NPD Niederbayern, kandidierte für die Partei 2008 zum bayerischen Landtag und ist laut der Süddeutschen Zeitung mit zahlreichen #Neonazis eng vernetzt. Mindestens bis zum Jahr 2015 war Hofer mit der rechtsradikalen NPD verbunden. [..] zeigen ihn als #Redner und Teilnehmer von Veranstaltungen der #Nazi-Partei. An eine größere Öffentlichkeit geriet #Hofer [..] als er versuchte, gegen ein Foto vorzugehen,[...] politischen Aschermittwoch der NPD zeigte. Doch vor Gericht verlor der Rechtsradikale 2018 laut der Süddeutschen Zeitung auch in zweiter Instanz. Der Bayerische Jugendring (BJR), den er verklagt hatte, nahm damals Neonazismus in Niederbayern unter die Lupe.
Dem BJR zufolge galt Hofer einigen in der NPD als #Hoffnungsträger: „Gebildet, regional verankert und ohne sichtbaren Hang zur Subkultur“, schreiben die Autor:innen. Doch im Unterschied zu anderen stehe Hofer ungern auf der Bühne, sein Metier sei die Arbeit im #Hintergrund. Ein möglicher Grund für das versuchte Vertuschen seiner rechtsradikalen Verbindungen könnte sein, dass er seine #Unternehmen schützen wolle, hieß es schon damals. [...] Dass Hofer weiterhin Teil der #rechtsradikalen Szene ist, wird spätestens klar, als er im November bei ebenjenem Treffen in Potsdam teilnimmt, das durch die Recherchen von #CORRECTIV ans Licht der Öffentlichkeit geraten ist. Auf dem Treffen in #Potsdam soll der ehemalige Müll-#Lobbyist laut den Recherchen von CORRECTIV mit einem eigenen Pitch aufgewartet haben: einer #Agentur für rechte #Influencer. Mit ihr soll #Mörig ein „alternatives YouTube-Netzwerk“ aufbauen wollen. Dabei geht es nicht darum, eine vergleichbare Videoplattform wie beispielsweise Rumble aus dem Boden zu stampfen, auf der sich Rechtsradikale ungestört und unmoderiert austoben können. Aus einer zur geplanten Agentur gehörigen unveröffentlichten Webseite, die netzpolitik.org einsehen konnte, geht hervor, dass reichweitenstarke YouTuber gewonnen werden sollen, die von der Monetarisierung auf #YouTube ausgeschlossen sind.
Das Mittel der De-Monetarisierung setzt YouTube vermehrt gegen fragwürdige, aber oft gerade noch legale Inhalte ein: Sie können zwar auf der größten #Videoplattform der Welt erscheinen und sie als Distributionsplattform einspannen, nicht aber direkt Einnahmen über #Werbeanzeigen erzielen. Das wird für einige Nutzer:innen aus rechtsextremen oder verschwörungsideologischen Ecken zunehmend zum Problem: Weltweit suchen sie nach Wegen, wie sie sich über ihre Inhalte dennoch finanzieren können. Dabei setzen sie etwa Links zu PayPal oder Patreon unter ihre Beiträge, bauen Werbeblöcke in ihre Videos ein oder tragen Kleidung mit dem Namen eines Sponsors – um auch ohne YouTube Einnahmen zu erhalten.
Genau dabei soll Mörigs Agentur helfen. Auf der noch nicht veröffentlichten Website, von der wir mehrere Screenshots veröffentlichen, wird eine Agentur vorgestellt, deren Namen wir nicht nennen, um keine Werbung für sie zu machen.
