This is not new of course, and many attempts to urge the govt to act on this rort have gone to the graveyard. After all, asking #politicians to cut out a lucrative side hussle post Parliamentary duties is never going to happen. That ex-polies get a job is expected of course. That these jobs might entail executive level positions in companies with govt contracts is par for the course. But finding their way into highly remunerated #political #lobbies, that, in my view, is a red line not to be crossed (it’s the shortest step from there to govt corruption).

This report will go nowhere, as others have before it. No govt will push through legislation to curtail the power of #Lobbyists. The only way to change the rules on golden #parachutes is to fight for it in the Courts, Constitutional or otherwise. And who is ever going to mount such an assault on the #PoliticalClass?
