Watched the ESPN E60 documentary on Michael Cammarata and why the number 11 is retired at the #LLBWS
25 years later, it's important to tell the story. 25 years later, I still remember being in NYC in September of 2001. But this is not about me.
I'm glad ESPN told the story and did so in a very tasteful and respectful way. Such a remarkable fact that he played in the #9 position wearing #11 at the 1991 Little League World Series.
The FDNY were the heroes then as they are now. They do a job that not many of us can do. We should take more time to honor the everyday heroes.
Not the politicians. Not the influencers. The ones who think of saving others.
