Wir schlendern durch die Kopfsteinpflastergassen von Celje als wir fast über einen römischen Brustpanzer stolpern, dann über eine Sandale und ein Paar Schienbeinschützer. Weitere Uniformteile liegen ein paar Meter weiter auf dem Pflaster verstreut und wir erwarten beim um-die-Ecke-Biegen ein paar Legionäre in Unterwäsche anzutreffen, doch mehr als die schon geschlossene Tür des Doms ist dort nicht zu sehen. Ein paar Fingerübungen und Tonleitern auf einem Klavier bilden die Tonspur der Kleinstadtidylle.

So klein ist Celje, zu k.k. Zeiten Cilli (in diversen Schreibweisen) genannt, aber garnicht, nur das alte Zentrum ist recht handlich und überschaubar auf einer Seite der Eisenbahn […]

Manchmal schaffen wir es dann doch in ein Eisenbahnmuseum. Wenn das von der nationalen Eisenbahngesellschaft betrieben wird und demgemäss verlässliche und halbwegs lange Öffnungszeiten hat (tgl. 10 bis 18 Uhr), dann geht sich das nach dem Waschen von Körper und Wäsche noch aus, vor allem, wenn die Etappe nicht lang war. Knapp wird es heute dann trotzdem, weil es zunächst noch gilt den gefühlt 30. Starkregenguss des Tages abzuwarten – mehr als ein Paar klatschnasser Schuhe können wir uns nicht leisten.

Es gibt also: einen Rundlokschuppen mit diversen Erzeugnissen verschiedener Lokomotivfabriken in den Habsburgischen Erblanden, die nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg an die Jugoslawische Eisenbahn […]
