Today was the day off I needed after spending most of yesterday knocked outta commission by a migraine. Had a great birthday with the girlfriend.
Got some important calls done, scheduled movers to move our stuff into our new apartment this Friday, sorted out the lease signing stuff with management, went to Olive Garden for dinner, drank a bottle of wine, ate cheesecake, came back and talked AI with a friend of mine who's going to bring me on board another project in a more official capassity, doing more hands-on development of some very cool systems, been smoking a cigar, because fuck gender norms, I'll smoke a cigar if I damn well feel like it, and now jamming some Nine Inch Nails and deciding what I'm going to do with the last couple hours of the night.
Life is finally starting to look up.

A few miles down from Bears Ears Pass and I have a tiny sliver of cell coverage. I found a beautiful camp in the piñon-juniper forest overlooking a vast panorama toward Monument Valley. The air is perfectly still and quiet. Had a simple dinner and a beer. I don't know or care what I am going to do tomorrow but it will be something awesome.
After weeks of river rafting, canyoneering, hiking and rock art exploring, I have a ton of pictures, but not enough bandwidth post any of them.
Going to be writing a whole bunch of short blog posts on my site and linking them here.
