We've release #Livi 0.5.0, our light video player for mobile 📼 . It now shows a proper status page when processing a URL (by @tpikonen ) and can (optionally) avoid display notches in landscape mode when the #Wayland compositor sends the necessary information (e.g. #phoc does). It's already updated in #Debian and on #flathub.

One thing bothering us when playing videos with our little, mobile friendly video player #livi was that playing from video sites like #peeretube or #youtube showed very little information in #phosh's media player widget. This is now fixed on Livi's main branch where it fetches the necessary bits from #ytdlp to display a thumbnail and artist information making it a better companion to the pipeline app too.

Note that offloading currently requires HW decoding - something I hope we can change next cycle. #livi will display a little icon in the top-left if hardware decoding and thus offloading is not used.
Whenever HW decoding and offloading works I'd expect the player to be competitive to whatever other favorite player you have performance wise.

Padzīts no Līviem, Ēriks Ķiģelis 1978.gadā Grobiņas Kultūras namā izveido grupu “Corpus”, kurā spēlē jaunie Eduards Glotovs un Vilnis Krieviņš, un drīz tajā parādās arī septiņpadsmitgadīgais vokālists un vijolnieks Rodrigo Fomins. Repertuāru veido galvenokārt Ķiģeļa dziesmas, tostarp vēlākie hiti “Zīlīte”, “Zušu dziesma” un “Rudens vēju muzikants”, taču ir arī dažas Rodrigo jeb Igo Fomina un Imanta Kalniņa kompozīcijas. #ēriksķiģelis #līvi #corpus #igo

Credo to atskaņo vairākos koncertos. Alksnis ar vairākiem atrastajiem dzejoļiem padalās arī ar jauno Līvu vadītāju Ainaru Virgu, kurš cenšas izveidot jaunu koncertprogrammu. Līvi savu “Dzimto valodu” uzreiz arī ieraksta un iesniedz Mikrofona aptaujai. Credo versija paliek tā arī neieskaņota. #līvi #credo

Pēc Pavītola izteikuma, ka Skujiņš "neprot dziedāt un nespēj saorganizēt pats savu laiku, kur nu vēl citus cilvēkus", basists grupu pamet, un tā paša gada rudenī izveido ansambli, kam 1979.gadā tiek oficiāli piešķirts nosaukums "Credo" #credo #līvi
