So I'm separating my four panels from my latest work and enhancing them a bit. They'll be a Little Red polyptych of four.

This first one is called "Perfume". I cleaned some things up, added some more texture and lighting, and I think it's a good start!

Here's last year's #FolktaleWeek images, as well as this year's first entry for the new one.

Last year's words were Lost, Ink, Sea, Sleep, Underground, Illusion, and Found.

I incorporated them into an adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood I'm still developing in my head. Lots of great story twists and turns, and it was really useful.

This year, for #FolktaleWeek2024, I'm using the new prompt words to create background imagery to place underneath text. I'm happy with how they're turning out.

I probably won't be able to complete all seven new words by the end of the week, but since it's primarily an Instagram challenge to drive traffic to specific host accounts (and I left Instagram a long time ago) I'm not worried about deadlines. I took my own sweet time last year, and will do so this year, too.

So here's a phone wallpaper version of "Mist," originally for a page of text.

Couldn't sleep again last night. So I got up in the wee hours and drew spontaneously on my livestream again.

This is a version of Little Red inspired by Rennie Mackintosh.

I'm going to continue to explore the work of the Glasgow Four and refine what I'm doing with a more precision.

I'm really enjoying playing. There's something very freeing when the process you're doing isn't about replicating a reference image. LOL!

Today I’m playing with some gelli plate monoprint that I digitized and inserted layers of illustrations I made for an ongoing Little Red Riding Hood project.

I think it’s a step closer to what I’m aiming for, but I have more exploring to do!

Got this doodle done on a quiet livestream last night. I tried just letting my art be the center of attention without my cam or any mic. I put on music and just drew.

It was relaxing in a lot of ways. I really enjoyed it. I’m happy with how the piece turned out!

After a week away at a Theatrical Design/Tech conference, I was finally able to return to drawing.

It's part of my "Little Red Story in my Head" series I'm starting. I have a sprawling epic percolating in my brain, and with every image I get closer and closer to it... I'm having a lot of fun! It's decidedly NOT a children's story for me anymore.
