A quotation from Banksy

They exist without permission. They are hated, hunted and persecuted. They live in quiet desperation amongst the filth. And yet they are capable of bringing entire civilisations to their knees. If you are dirty, insignificant and unloved then rats are the ultimate role model.

Banksy (b. 1974?) England-based pseudonymous street artist, political activist, film director
Wall and Piece, “Rats” (2005)

A quotation from Molly Ivins

That’s why it’s called Establishment journalism. You concentrate on the people at the top, the people with power; you watch, you study how they make their moves, you get fascinated by it, and pretty soon you can’t see anything else — just the top, just the power. And the others, the people, the readers, matter so little that you don’t even bother to let them know what’s going on. You start to think like the people you cover. It can happen on any beat — business, police, politics, education. The stuff you want is from the top — you want to quote the chief, the superintendent, the chairman of the board. There are no reliable sources who earn less than $10,000 a year.

Molly Ivins (1944-2007) American writer, political columnist [Mary Tyler Ivins]
Essay (1973-01), “Pitfalls of Reporting in the Lone Star State,” Houston Journalism Review

#WritersCoffeeClub Dec 21. "Disney is making a musical animation of one of your stories. How well does that go?"

I could see Restoration Day potentially working as a musical animation, but somehow I doubt Disney would accept an anti-government guerilla dwarf as the love interest. (NB dwarfs in Restoration Day are a human ethnic group, not a non-human species, nor people with a medical condition of dwarfism.)
But Disney would never accept a Creative Commons license either, so it'll never happen!
Unless anyone else wants to have a crack at it, in which case feel free, you have the legal right to do so (CC BY-SA). Just don't mess with the anti-government guerilla dwarf.

@chu Unfortunately that only hurts the #littlepeople and creates increased rates and #insurance #monopolies for #bigcorporations willing to take the gamble. These states should actually hold #bigcorp accountable through financial sanctions. This includes #bigoil #bigtech #bigdata #BigEnergy

But you know, the won't because #lobbyistslinepockets

@rdm Sure is hostile. It means that folk awaiting a bus are blasted with & rain, perhaps perched on a highly uncomfortable plank, just in case someone with no home wants some minimal comfort. As I said, the designers/installers feel confident in creating #hostilearchitecture as they feel are secure in the knowledge that these facilities are for the #littlepeople .

I was a kid back in the mid- 1970s to late 1980s – #MastersOfTheUniverse ( #MotU ) toys were among my childhood toys.

Seeing modern MotU toys makes me feel nostalgia 🙂

So when I saw that #Mattel had announced (last year) that they were creating a cross-over line of #LittlePeople toys for toddlers of MotU characters — I pre-ordered them (back in September 2022) for my son 🙂

Toys like these might be "for kids", but they are sold to the parents. Since parents make the purchasing decisions.

The first (real) snow here, today!
Have fun!
I hope it lasts at least until you could build a snowman 🛷
