  1. Some birds spotted this morning on campus. A female Australian Wood Duck, pausing mid-preen for a photo; and two Little Corellas on a rock grabbing a drink from the lake.

  2. It's just a jump to the left...

Little Corella deciding the other rock looks like a better place to stand.

  3. Narrator: It was at this point, he knew he'd screwed up.

Little Corella attempting to be on a very thing branch of a melaleuca tree.

  4. This morning, I came across a Pied Butcherbird with its breakfast of freshly caught caterpillar (and look of smugness when it was finished), and this afternoon captured some Little Corellas in flight.

  5. All about Little Corellas today (well, except for the Striated Heron).

One scruffy fellow in a tree, and two fighting over a bunya nut.

  6. A day for Bin-chickens, with several hanging around the lake at UQ. One in particular appears to be a male in breeding colours.

Also, many Little Corellas, and a lone Little Pied Cormorant sunning itself on a rock.

  7. A damp Little Corella holding some pine needles in order to have a good chew this morning.

One of a flock of about 30 birds, all feasting under this particular pine tree.

  8. Took the camera to work today (the last work day of the year). Met a family of Bush Stone-curlews, and a Little Corella that was down by the lake thinking about having a drink.

  9. A few critters from work, as I sought out a quiet spot on campus at lunchtime today.

A #LittleCorella having a yawn (it's that kind of day).

A #LittleCormorant enjoying the weak sun on its perch in the lake.

A #Turtle swimming past the shore. Probably a Brisbane River Turtle, but I'm not sure.

  10. Up at silly o’clock this morning, just as the sun was rising and what a sight to behold.

In numbers (4-5 dozen), these are some type of #Corella feeding away in the freshly laid bark, in a nearby park.

I think these little fellas are called #LittleCorella going by a quick google search. They’re a sub-genus of the white cockatoo, I read with interest!

They seemed unfazed by my presence, although I did creep up on them, and they appear to be quite placid and behaving nicely probably because they’re filling their bellies on this fine, but cool Melbourne morning.

7 degrees (14F), but the sun’s out and it is forecast to be a cloudless, sunshiny day 🙌☀️

Havan awes day whatever you’re up to today!!

    🙏🤍

  11. Little Corellas on campus this afternoon. They are an absolute hoot to watch if you have the time. They'll roll around on their backs playing with dried leaves, squabble amongst each other, flap or hop around. So much character.
