It’s that time of year again — fields are getting lined, equipment bags are coming out of garages, and coaches everywhere are scrambling to get organized before opening day.

The 12yo finally hit a homer over the fence at batting practice tonight. The last tournament in his 12U career is in Cooperstown, NY in a couple of days, and the confidence boost can only be a great thing at this point. Maybe that $350 bat was worth it.

It was a baseball Sunday! First, my phone reminded me of my fun times in Little League baseball with the Beaverhead Livestock Giants. Second, I was able to see the Billings Mustangs host the Ogden Raptors and have yummy food (thank you, Q2!). Next, I had two foul balls hit my way and got the second one. Then, to top it off, Billings beat Ogden 11-4! ⚾️⚾️

It's hot, at least by Midwestern standards.
Yesterday the temperature was 97°F (36°C) at game time for the BGRA Farm Yankees @ White Sox. The home team clearly had an advantage with the positioning of their dugout.
We were not the home team.
The game should have been cancelled. 🥵
Yes, I am absolutely a wimp when it comes to hot weather.

Maybe I'm a boomer, but calling time in a baseball game so some 11-year-old at first base can take off his batting gloves, elbow guard and shin guard, then put on two sliding mitts for the 60-foot sprint to 2nd base is fucking ridiculous, and I will never stop bristling at this Little League sports theater.
