  3. I think I'll install #ZNC again as an #IRC #bouncer instead of #pounce and #litterbox. that breaks my heart because i love these softwares but znc is more friendly imho. i'll see how it goes

  4. "When Kitty Litter Caused a Nuclear Catastrophe"

I always use inorganic kitty litter for my litter box. I don't want the litter box to experience a thermal runaway reaction.

  5. The #kittens are more than 3 weeks old now, and starting to explore their environment. They're not very steady on their feet yet, but it's improving rapidly. They play with each other, and even try to run every now and then.

They're also teething, so I expect mother #Melian will stop #suckling soon. She seems to direct them to the food bowl every now and then, as if to invite them to try it. Black-and-white tried his (?) teeth on my finger this morning. And look at the claws of Black in the video, huge for such a small animal...

We're at the start of a new phase, in which the kittens will explore the entire house. I hope mom can teach them to use the #litterbox quickly, I've moved it back to its original place in the kitchen: pretty close to their box.

  6. I'm a bit of a #HomeAutomation nut, and I have two cats whose #litterbox is a #LitterRobot made by #Whisker. The mobile app is supposed to notify me whenever the litter drawer gets full, but it's never worked. (Yes, I've already tried logging out/in, uninstalling/reinstalling, clearing cache, disabling battery optimization, etc.)

My main hub is a #Hubitat C-7, and until recently, there was an unofficial Litter Robot integration in #HubitatPackageManager that allowed me to circumvent the Whisker app notification issue. Then, Whisker changed their #API, which broke the Hubitat integration, and I was back to manually checking the Whisker app every day.

Turns out, there's a #HomeAssistant integration that supports the new API, so today, I implemented the most #RubeGoldberg workaround I've ever seen. I installed #Portainer on my #RaspberryPi, spun up HA in #Docker, installed #HACS, enabled the Hubitat #MakerAPI integration, connected it all up, and now my notifications are working again!

  11. So I've spent some time playing around with different #Mastodon webclients. Out of #ElkZone, #Litterbox, #Pinafore, #Phanpy, #Trunks, #Mastodeck and #Brutaldon I've found Elk and Pinafore to be my favorites (single column, clean look and sufficiently large text).

Was wondering if anyone know of any other great web clients though as always looking for new ones (especially self-hostable).

Love the plethora of clients available in the Fediverse! 😄

  12. #TFW you're about to meditate, and your cat just dumped a big stinker in the litter box sitting close to you.

    👍
