  1. Neural correlates and subjective experiences in meditation vs psychedelics, including ketamine (Preliminary Lit Review)
    A preliminary, evolving review of the literature. (Ongoing Draft- 70 papers spanning 72 years so far ) | Psychedelic Institute of Mental Health & Family Therapy #neuroscience #meditation #psychedelics #ketamine #psychedelic #akrasia #research #litreview #cognitivebehavioraltherapy psychedelicmentalhealth.net/ne

  2. @dangillmor @davew psychedelic-institute-of-menta — haven’t explored the newsletter angle as much as just using it to do some manuscript writing #psychedelic #mentalhealth #Litreview #psychedelics At some point it will be paywalled, which may be the only way creators can keep from getting skimmed by AI

  3. Some ongoing context of what has been called, “The Psychedelic Renaissance”, “The Psychedelic Hype Bubble”, and “the Wild West”. The #FDA advisory committees for #MDMA -Assisted Therapy as well as racemic ketamine and other psychedelic New Drug Applications (NDA’s) have access to this information, as do the researchers at MAPS/Lykos and the other #psychedelic corporations in the space. #mdma #fda #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #maps #psychedelics #psychedelicassistedpsychotherapy #litreview

  4. One member of the FDA advisory committee, and non-voting, industry rep worked on Spravato for Jansen. Her colleague, a psychiatrist was MAPS-trained and works with ketamine currently. Let’s talk conflict of interests. What #psychiatricmedicines have been tested against the gold standard of cognitive behavioral therapy? Which of the providers in the #mdmaassistedtherapy trials or advisory meeting actually practice CBT? #studydesign #litreview #contactus

  5. TFW you're doing a lit review and magically find a survey paper of the exact obscure sub-sub-sub-topic you need that you thought nobody else in the world cared enough about to collect all the papers on 🥺

Sometimes science is really hard, and sometimes when you're in the trenches you catch a break because some wonderful nerdy strangers have bushwhacked there before and left you a lil trail ❤️ 🌄 #science #research #phd #litreview

  6. Being a #PhD #student
I have often come across the vast amount of information out there, which is overwhelming. PhD Proofreaders has helped me cope with its simple and very well explained resources.

They also have a #Friday motivation #newsletter (e-mail delivered) that helps dealing with the rollercoaster of experiences we face during this particular stage of our lives.

  7. This arrived today from NYU. A sometimes benefit of submitting work to literary reviews is receiving an issue, or even a year of them. They didn’t accept my work; rejection is part of making any type of art. I love experiencing the art of others, though, so this is a nice consolation prize.

  8. In a recent book chapter, Katharina Ludwig & I present a structured #LitReview of #PoliticalPolarization #Effects caused by #SocialMedia Use.

We find that the field suffers from a lack of conceptual & methodological rigor. Taken together, our analysis does not support the often cited notion that #Platforms (let alone #Algorithms) considerably contribute to the #Polarization of their #Users.

  10. #LitReview question - can anyone point me to work on the experience of participating in online communities. E.g., where people are, who they are with, what emotions they experience, etc.?

This is related to research on motivations but distinct, I think.

  12. I'm thinking about starting a on how Teams (broadly defined) of people communicate and network with each other to solve complex problems.

How is info shared? What info is open, what is privileged? What is the role of trust in communciations? etc etc

If you know of any good papers, please share

  14. Is anyone familiar with prior work that explores *who* provides feedback in online communities?

There is some work on identifying "experts" in knowledge-sharing communities, but is there research identifying what kinds of users are doing the social/community work of welcoming and encouraging new participants?

Any pointers at all, even peripherally relevant, would be appreciated!
