    Ford Madox Ford, best known for his novel 'The Good Soldier', considered one of the great novels of literature. His use of flashbacks and the unreliable narrator helped define his pioneering impressionist voice.

    Marcel Paul Pagnol, French novelist, playwright, and filmmaker, acclaimed master of stage comedy and first filmmaker to be elected to the Académie française.

    His stage play Topaze (1928) was filmed several times, in 1933 with Lionel Barrymore, and in 1951 (directed by Pagnol) with Fernandel.
