With all the technology we have, you still need to power down a device in order to have it's {lipo} batteries charged at relatively controllable temperatures.
That's the reason why removable batteries are a logical thing. That is also the reason why I do not understand from the perspective of fire safety, that volatile power units are permanently sealed in devices.
I have a few obsolete Android devices that are still perfectly usable, for lighter tasks. I refuse to pry them open in order to replace the volatile batteries which are charging at temperatures where the devices need to be shut down. A procedure I cannot do, because the power buttons and the logic integrated circuits behind them are broken. I need to use PPE in order to charge those things safely!
Luckily The European Union got fed up with this sealed battery phenomena and thanks to the Europeans we shall have normal battery separation again in our devices

People recommending you manually use a CC/CV power supply are not helping you 😉
Good chargers will let you set what *type* of battery it is, and will correctly charge all major types. I've got a four-cell (four independent charging circuits) that will happily charge NiCad, Nickel Metal Hydride, LiFePO4, Lithium-ion polymer, and a few others. It mostly autodetects the correct type.
They're not stupidly expensive. The model I have is currently $37 Canadian from Amazon:

В какой-то момент заметил в себе нерациональные опасения сборки устройств с литиевыми аккумуляторами на борту.
Когда я их сам собираю и сам кладу LiPo пакетик или банку внутрь своими руками - это почему-то интуитивно кажется опаснее, чем когда это делают китайцы спутывая провода и заливая всё термоклеем.

The device I'm currently on is also Hotspotting the internet connection to three other devices.
Hotspotting is very costly for the battery
A Smart router has to be enabled for the connection to be distributed to the other clients. The routing consists of the gateway which talks to the 4G ISP and a switch which talks to the devices. A process which maintains the tokens for the min LAN that's created also needs to run. Both physical devices are connected as a transparent Bridge.
The whole process just takes a lot from the device. I normally have a separate mobile Wi-Fi router to do the work. However this ISP gave me more bandwidth, much more bandwidth, than the other.
Only SIM cards of the other ISP work in dedicated Wi-Fi routers. The current ISP explicity prohibits this by preventing the sim card to login, when the device is detected.I shall be back

So, Projekt SR-56 vorläufig abgeschlossen. Alles funktioniert. 😊 Höchstens nochmal alles aufmachen für eine Grundreinigung innen. Und mal sehen, wie man die sichtbaren Blessuren kaschieren könnte. Vielleicht die Tasten retro-brighten? 🤔 Der Batteriefach-Deckel ist 3D-gedruckt, weil‘s mit dem Original alles zu eng war. Does anyone have a protective box for their battery charging needs? What kind?
My complications are:
- Long ebike battery that needs to be charged from the end
- Battery charge state needs to be observable (it's a blinking LED on the battery)
- Preferably easy to chuck out the door/window in case of shit hitting the fanI'm considering getting some kind of metal box, padding it with fireproof material, and adding a simple camera/monitor for observing the insides.
