  1. This infant with barely any hair on its head glazing curiously at the sub-adult who was springing between the ground and the branch. With her moist eyes filled and reclining on the lap of its mother, who is busy in grooming herself, this infant perhaps already knew one day she will be jumping like her friend. #liontailedmacaque #primates #monkeys #nature #wildlife #rainforest #endangeredspecies #WesternGhats

  2. Lion-tailed macaques nurses and carry their infants under their belly until one year. Once they are matured, they are on their own. The age of females for the first birth is 6 years and the inter-birth interval is 30-36 months. The delayed sexual maturity and long inter-birth intervals is one of the factors for their low population turnover. #liontailedmacaque #primates #wildlife #nature #rainforest

  3. Although injured he climbed the tree painlessly. He then rested on the branch for a while before getting down as effortlessly as he climbed. His tree was occupied by his troopmates. He never interacted with them in as I observed almost a week. He was limping all alone. Injured probably either while defending his territory or while occupying one. I hope to see him again soon. #liontailedmacaque #primates #nature #rainforest #rainforestconservation #wildlifeconservation #wildlife

  4. Lion-tailed macaque feeding on the exotic species, the seed of an African Tulip, primarily due to less availability of native trees around them. Many of the native species have been eroded in favour of exotic ones mainly coffee, cardamom, tea and so on… #liontailedmacaque #primates #mammals #rainforest #nature #wildlife #wildlifeconservation #westernghats
