Ich denke wir brauchen eher einen offenen Hardware Hersteller der dauerhaft Treiber für freie Roms bereitstellt - wie das mal bei Googles Pixeln war.
Entsprechend kann man genügend freie Androids installieren - und weiterhin die alternativen Stores wie f-droid sichern.Linux auf Handy-Hardware zu portieren halte ich für einen Irrweg - mit echtem Android haben wir schon das richtige Betriebssystem.

📌 Nach zwei Jahren Warten und Hoffen ist es nun so weit: Die ersten Exemplare des Linux-Smartphones Librem 5 werden ab morgen an die Vorbesteller ausgeliefert. Purism wickelt die Auslieferung in sechs Schritten ab, wobei der Kunde sich jeweils auch für eine spätere Lieferung und somit weiter entwickelte Software und ein professionelleres Gehäuse entscheiden kann.

⚠️ Librem 5 Update für Juli
📌 Das Linux-Smartphone Librem 5, das derzeit bei Purism in der Entwicklung ist, wurde bereits zwei Mal verschoben und soll nun im gerade begonnenen 3. Quartal ausgeliefert werden. Der ursprüngliche Termin war der Januar 2019, dieser wurde zunächst auf April 2019 und später auf das 3. Quartal verschoben. Ob der Termin diesmal eingehalten werden kann ist zumindest für mich fraglich.
