  1. @mosgaard yeah, although I used Threebody Technology's Speccraft instead of Soothe, I had started a thread on the #LinuxMusicians forum on the topic:
    linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.p

Harrison's Spectral Compressor has been the only native alternative suitable for mastering I have found so far.

  13. An esoteric connection for #AlternateFridayMusic / #FortnightFridayMusic

Artist: Jefferson Airplane vs Dr FAME
    Song: White Rabbit
    Word: Window

    youtube.com/watch?v=enXlT1w5lIU

Reason: It was the last piece of music I made using Microslop Windows, before basing my studio around Linux.

  19. #LinuxMusicians and #LinuxProducers of the fedi, I am looking for some native MPE capable softsynths that are not named Vital.

    I'd also take some
#Bitwig MPE presets for the native devices. I already have all of the presets @[email protected] keeps in his github, and recently snagged the pack that @[email protected] has so I'm looking for other creators. Shameless self promotion welcome.

  23. Looking for suggestions for good and reliable DAWs for Linux (specifically Fedora)... Don't mind if it's FOSS or not (if it's FOSS I will pay regularly). I'm reviewing Ardour (obvs) Reaper and Bitwig so far... Reaper is performing poorly with latency at the moment. #daw #linuxmusic #linuxmusicians

  27. On the topic of iLok, the only thing that I miss, and I am looking for alternatives, is the Antares Autotune stuff. They use iLok, anything that does not need iLok and is comparable in features? I am OK to use yabiridge to make it work on Linux. Any chance that @amadeus would have any tips?

  30. #LinuxMusicians, help me out please?

I'm after a DAW or MIDI sequencer that does

    1. step entry from the keyboard
    2. where note length can be defined by the arrow keys

Specifically, I'm looking for Musicator style input, where a key on the MIDI instrument is held and by default produces the selected note length - say an eighth - and tapping the right arrow key while the keyboard key is held will extend the length of the note - for example one right arrow tap will make the eighth a crotchet.

Anyone got anything for me, or am I back to Try Every DAW Or Use Ancient DOS Software?

  38. Who's making music on #Linux? Is it realistic to replace a #MacBook with a Linux machine in a recording studio? Does it play nice with external devices? I've had some experience with #Ubuntu, I'm aware that it's not as user friendly but it seemed to work well "in the box", at least. Thoughts? #linuxmusic #linuxmusicproduction #linuxmusicians #MusicProduction appleinsider.com/articles/25/0
