    Linux works fine on most "Windows" laptops, @floledermann. Try giving your students a bootable USB thumbdrive with an easy-to-use #LinuxLiveSystem including all the tools you want them to use. The people of #lernstick lernstick.ch might be able to help with creating images for such devices, if wanted, but something similar is also possible in a DYI way based on many Linux distributions.
