Kíváncsi leszek, mi lesz a vége!

Can you spot the keyboard? Oh that's right, its Bus 001 Device 027, the Microdia Vivitar Vivicam3350B from 20 years ago. I, too, often get old digital cameras and new mechanical keyboards mixed up.

Chat, thoughts on this? https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/braxtechnologies/open_slate
Looks decent for tablet specs, but no clue at how the Linux ARM experience would be, nor if the person backing it is cringe

A couple of minutes ago, "Linux Audio Plugin Development" (LAPD) became "Linux Audio Development" (LAD). 😎
This allows us to focus on more than just #plugin (s) and also cover DAWs, specialized audio #linuxsoftware, and #linuxhardware support in the future.

Picked up an HP X2 detachable laptop/tablet hybrid thing from a friend's shop and am looking for an operating system that will work that isn't Debian. It's got 2GB of ram and 32GB of storage and some God awful Atom potato processor. I intended it to be a writing machine, so nothing too special needed. It's currently running Fedora like shit.

That's quite a beast for humble linux gamers.
「 The biggest selling point of the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 Gen7 laptop is its 1000 nits HDR (High Dynamic Range) mini-LED matte display with 2560×1600 resolution, 100% sRGB, 16:10 aspect ratio, and extremely fast 300 Hz refresh rates. The new display is paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 24GB GDDR7 graphics card 」

@samuelsantaella @itsfoss I agree - that is the only real reason. #YotLD is not about anything technical, nor about market share! The true practical definition of #YotLD is when people can simply walk in to physical stores. and buy affordable laptops with #LinuxPreinstalled.
Remember, most people don't install Windows or macOS on their computers. In fact, they have no concept of an operating system - it's just a computer. They are only concerned with using the apps!

📱 FuriPhone FLX1: A Debian-powered smartphone

Heeeeeeey linux cats!
I would like to learn how to do kernel work and closer to the grain hardware work. Anyone know of any reasonably-priced device (wifi card? PCI-E card? even if it's a laptop, so long as it's relatively inexpensive for the whole shebang) that oh my god no one gives a shit about enough to write a driver but it would be super cool if it did work?
If you know of any listing of anything of this type or anything, that would be really helpful. I dunno what my price point is but given that it's education to increase my skillset for employability (and to possibly help stave off more compute lockdown in the future) I do have some budget for it. I'm not really a hardware kitten so I'm not quite sure where to begin to look for this kind of info.
Boosts very much appreciated!

I’m looking for a beefy prebuilt linux desktop for running local test workloads. (simulation of 1000s of nodes of a system).
Linux support needs to be great. I've looked at System76 but prices are quite high.
- 500GB Nvme storage
- Ryzen with at least 8 cores, 16 would be better
- min 32 GB RAMRecommendations?

Don’t Support the Coreboot Project
—MALIBAL「 Instead of support and collaboration, we faced inflated prices, poor communication, and what we perceived as incompetence from coreboot leaders and consultants. Our efforts ultimately fell apart, not due to technical challenges, but because of what we see as unethical practices within the coreboot community 」

@ohyran @popey Yeah KDE Plasma Netbook layout is awesome. Too bad it did not continue in newer versions of Plasma. Well yeah netbooks are not so popular anymore. Anyways. i still use my HP Mini 110 from time to time and I still love Plasma Netbook on it :) It later got merged with Plasma Active into Plasma Mobile we have today. Maybe I should try to get that one running on this little lappy :)
