Juno Computers a dat startul precomenzilor pentru Juno Tab 4 WiFi, o tabletă premium cu ecran de 13 inchi, concepută special pentru Linux. Spre deosebire de modelul anterior cu LTE, această versiune WiFi nu renunță doar la conectivitatea mobilă, ci vine cu dimensiuni mai mari și specificații hardware demne de un laptop de top.

🔹 Specificații hardware solide:

Procesor: Intel Core Ultra 5-115U (arhitectură Meteor Lake cu 8 nuclee, 10 thread-uri și frecvențe de până la 4.2 GHz).

Grafică: Intel Arc Xe-LPG (cu 3 nuclee Xe).

Memorie: 16 GB de RAM de tip LPDDR5 (integrați pe placa de bază).

Stocare: SSD M.2 NVMe PCIe (detasabil) de 1 TB, capabil de viteze de citire de până la 3.500 MB/s.

🔹 Ecran și multimedia:
Echipată cu un ecran tactil IPS de 13 inchi cu rezoluție 2K (1600×2560 pixeli, rată de reîmprospătare de 60 Hz). Acesta suportă atingere capacitivă în 10 puncte și este compatibil cu stilouri digitale (stylus) cu 4096 de niveluri de presiune. Are difuzoare stereo duale, microfon încorporat și camere de 5 MP (față și spate).

Versiunea minimă de kernel necesară este Linux 6.19. Este suportată și criptarea completă a discului (iar pe Debian, decriptarea la boot se poate face direct prin tastatura virtuală de pe ecran grație utilitarului Unl0kr).

Went and got myself a new tablet in the form of a Latitude 7275. The screen is the first thing that stood out, it's bright and the viewing angle is fabulous. I might write a longer review later, once I've become more antiquated with it. Otherwise I'm quiet pleased with it on this note.

I’ve been using a Lenovo Yoga for my 2-in-1 Linux computer duties. But now I have another, possibly better option. Don’t get me wrong—my Lenovo has been working great!! But ultra-repairability, and ultra-upgradability has some nice advantages! I’ll be watching this one closely! 🙂

Using a decommissioned work laptop to install @EndeavourOS to see what a Linux foldable laptop would be like. I like the idea of it replacing my tablet, which is a Huawei and is now about 4 (5?) years without update.

If it is a good replacement, I can look at finding a cheapish foldable laptop (this work one is a Dell 5290 2 in 1) online and finally retire the excellent but now flawed Huawei.
