Haluan vain seuraavaa:
-Kalenterin työpöydälle aina näkyviin
-Voin kirjoittaa siihen päiväkohtaisen muistiinpanon

En halua:
-Tehdä tilejä
-Avata softaa joka kerta
-Lisätä tarkkaa dataa tapaamisiin
-Synkata yhtään mihinkään!

ELI! Periaatteessa etsin softa versiota kynä ja paperi kalenterista. Tuohon vain kalenterin toiselle näytölle johon voi kirjata yhden asian per päivä.

Kaikki mitä olen kokeillut on täynnä turhaa potaskaa.

Onko tämmöistä edes olemassa?

Well I finally did it. I Installed Linux on an old Macbook Air and this is my first post from it!

I chose Linux Mint Cinnamon and it runs very well! I had to troubleshoot wifi and the webcam but I managed to get everything working

Yay 🐧

Anybody have a Launcher recommendation? Kinda like Raycast or Spotlight on the Mac?

@aaarkii oh, come on. Du kannst doch nicht von jemanden, der/die seine/ihre private Zeit in FOSS Projekte investiert und was Gutes tut, erwarten, dass er/sie “on top” die Faulheit von Leuten ISOs zu verifizieren kompensiert. Solange die ISO Verifizierung gut dokumentiert und umgesetzt ist, sollte es reichen. FOSS Projekte haben oft nicht ausreichend Kapital und müssen halt auf Mirrors von Dritten setzen.

#linuxmint selbst könnte aber einen besseren Job bei der Dokumentation zur ISO Verifizierung machen:

• Zumindest die Dokumentation sollte selber gehostet sein und nicht bei readthedocs.io.
• Die Downloadseite (z.B. https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=326) sollte die SHA256 und OpenPGP Dateien sowie die Dokumentation zur Verifizierung direkt verlinken.
• Selbst gehostetes WKD sollte zusätzlich zu selbst gehostetem HKPS genutzt werden. hkp://keys.openpgp.org:80 ist ein No-Go, da Nutzung einer zentralen Dritt-Seite (läuft OpenPGPs Idee von Dezentralisierung entgegen) und HTTP (TCP/80).

Ich verstehe aber, wenn die Aufzählungspunkte aus Zeit- und Kostengründen nicht angegangen wurden. Zumindest ist Linux Mint besser aufgestellt als so manches anderes FOSS Projekt, wo “Signatur” ein Fremdwort ist.

The latest update has a small issue in my laptop. It don't properly piwer down (everything else works well). An issue with the latest 7.0.30 generic kernel maybe ?

@thelinuxEXP Apparently, Tuxedo OS isn’t just for Tuxedo hardware - @tuxedocomputers themselves say it can be installed on other PCs too (but w/o support).

So hmmmmm, now I’m seriously considering moving my Dell Latitude from Linux Mint to the new #Debian-based Tuxedo OS.

Anyone running #TuxedoOS on different hardware? Experiences, pitfalls, reasons to stay with Mint?

I like that TuxedoOS has decided to shift towards supporting a community based distro, such as Debian.

So with TuxedoOS migrating to Debian, I wonder if Linux Mint will start to prioritize development of LMDE over standard Ubuntu based LM.

Okay, Linux people riddle me this.

I gotta help another old laptop begging to be upgraded to Linux from Windows. The user is not TUI literate and would prefer GUI based interactions. It is a hybrid graphics setup, Intel + AMD.

What would you suggest? Remember stability over cutting edge features.

Right. I do not use VPN, but saw the same 403 errors, and the same solution. The nightly build works! Until YouTube breaks #ytdlp again.

On #LinuxMint, this is how I installed the nightly build.

I begin to ask myself is it time for me to distro hop because Debian Sid has kernel compilation issues and NVIDIA drivers are lagging behind multiple series (not versions!)

Where would I go though? I used Debian on my home PC for over a decade. Mint? Arch? Some new fancy invention, probably based on Arch? Doesn't feel right.
