«Los residentes de la zona han elaborado diversas alegaciones y las han enviado a la Consejería de Fomento para que reconsidere la opción elegida en el estudio informativo del tramo sur, entre ellas la redactada por la asociación de vecinos Bermejales 2000 con la ayuda de la plataforma 'Bermejales Metro sí, pero bien' y la de Parque Vivo Guadaíra, Puerto de Sevilla, Bermejales Activa y Urban Century. "El sentir general es de incredulidad, es una injusticia con el barrio. Sale en superficie y lo parte en dos", cuenta a El Correo de Andalucía Sergio Robles, uno de los creadores de la plataforma mencionada. "Los Bermejales ha costado levantarlo 30 años. Y en nada podemos hundirlo. Un metro en superficie en sitios habitados separa y crea murallas", valora José María Villarreal, miembro de Bermejales Activa.»

A protest yesterday at Universidad metro station in Mexico City against the conditions of the metro, its militarization, and in memory of Yaretzi, a student killed in a metro accident on Saturday. Protesters allowed riders to enter without paying the fare.

Instead of fixing Mexico City's neglected and corrupt metro system after recent accidents and fires, the State has decided to further militarize it by sending 6,000 National Guard to all metro stations. In response, at least two protests have been called.

Yesterday, high school students in Mexico City protested in the Tasqueña metro station in response to Saturday's metro collision which killed 18-year-old student Yaretzi Adriana Hernández and wounded more than 150 others.
Eight of the protesting students were beaten and arrested and later released from custody early Tuesday morning.
